Five nice things on a Friday

Maybe I’m overzealous but let me share with you 5 things that fill my heart with happiness…

Vintage suitcase storage

I saw this idea online somewhere - a few nicely handled trade-me deals later and storage issues solved. well almost.

This letter
A sweet letter I got a while back, I think I will keep it forever.

Bikram Yoga + this man

Bikram yoga is basically yoga in a hot room – I’ve done it a couple of times and loved (and hated) it the whole time.
There is a trend at these classes however that currently I don’t seem to fit, in that pretty much everyone that attends appears to be in varying degrees of emaciation. The skinniest people you ever did see. So I thought well - who better to take along than my very own yoga practicing fundamentalist vegan daddy?
Funniest moment: as he lay on his mat waiting for the class to begin saying ‘ooo this is lovely, like lying on the beach at Brisbane’ closely followed by  10 minutes later as he  huffed and puffed near hysteria ,sweat dripping off him, whispering to himself ‘oh crap, oh crap’

Joan Holloway

We could totally be twins right?.... .....right?

Recently I’ve been re-watching Mad Men from the beginning with an uninitiated friend of mine and Oh My Goodness – has girlfriend ever got some style. I want to BE her.  Without all the 1960’s sexism, of course.

The impossible cool

I think this is what Johanna meant when she said she’s stumbled upon highly interesting blogs that she looks at for hours. I can’t remember when or how I first came across this but the impossible cool, is what it claims to be.  Pages and pages of photos of the timeless cool. You need to see it to believe.

About me.......

Johanna and I are talking about blogs. I think I can say interesting things, I say, she replies - blogs are just interesting, sometimes I stumble upon highly interesting blogs that I look at for hours - Heres whats up I say, I do too and like Ariel its time to be part of your world.
So about me. Hi! Im Jaz. I live in Hamilton, New Zealand, I work at the museum here and I love my job.
Originally though, I was born a scouser in Birkenhead, England. So Im a kiwi-scouse hybrid. kind of.
I went to school in both countries and did my History of Art Degree at Liverpool John Moores University, which was awesome 'cause I got to travel a bunch between New Zealand and England and also over to Europe, where I went backpacking one summer (good times).
After this exciting saga of my life, I came home (Hamilton) for a year and then left again this time to serve a full-time mission in Hong Kong for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Which was the best, hardest, most fulfilling thing I have ever done. I loved my mission and the people of Hong Kong - this will always be a special place to me - its where I came to know who I am and how much my Heavenly Father loves me.
But,
Now Im back and I've been back for quite sometime.
I've done some good things since then, travelled to a few countries, lived in some fun places with fun people, served in various capacities in various wards, discovered the gym(!), spent quality time with good friends and also made lovely new friends. Other stuff too. lots of lovely other things.
So this is me really - the official hello and welcome - xoxo Jaz
